Speaking and Discussion

Let's create a broader collaborative of ideas, experience, and expertise.

In the past, I have spoken in informal classroom setting sharing my experiences of design school with engineering students, given guest lecture and formal presentation, as well as spoken at conferences and information sessions sharing information, research, and ideas to up to 250 attendees.

My primary interests are meeting to discuss field related topics as well as presenting current work. I am interested in speaking to groups of students interested in the fields of architecture, engineering, and real estate development on topics in the field as well as information about next steps in education towards degrees.

Feeling the Squeeze?  space use for academic and financial success!

The building is the single-largest financial asset a charter school has, yet our space use practices receive remarkably little attention as we put band-aids on space issues semester-to-semester and year-to-year. Poor space usage can be the root cause of unnecessary frustration, academic challenges, and financial waste. Break the cycle and take a fresh look at the metrics of space usage, best practices, and viable improvement strategies that you can use to give your school an academic and financial edge for success.

Feeling the Squeeze?  Why Bringing Space Planning Into Focus is Critical to Success

Join National Charter School Institute Associate Dustin Sommer for a Facilities Webinar about the facts and tips for better space utilization by staff and students. Leave recharged with fresh ideas to implement this summer as you prepare for the next school year.

A LOOK AT WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO THE MILLENNIAL GENERATION: SURVEY SAYS?

Participating as a panelist on the presentation topic focused on millennials in the AEC workforce.

Talent recruiting and retention is a vital part of any organization, particularly in the A/E/C industry.  But attracting and retaining good people means understanding them.  FMI conducted a survey of more than 300 industry employees in the first half of 2015 and produced a report entitled “Millennials in Construction: Learning To Engage a New Workforce.”  An FMI professional (and former Owner) will discuss some of the more interesting findings of this report and engage both the audience and a panel of A/E/C millennials to dig deeper into some of the myths and truths about the generation born between 1980 and 2000.
