Urban Land Institute Gerald D. Hines Urban Design and Development Competition;
National Finalist | 2011
The Urban Land Institute and the 13 member jury led by James Ratner selected our team submission as a finalist entry to compete for the $50,000 first prize. There were 153 entries, of which four were selected to proceed competing with the extended project brief. As part of the finalist phase, our team worked from the new brief, visited our site in Seattle, and produced the second round boards. The boards were presented in Seattle to the jury on March 31, 2011 in the Microsoft Auditorium in the Seattle Public Library. Our team did not clinch first place, however we took home $10,000 cash prize and the experience of competing in this national competition. A sister team from our college at the University of Michigan won the competition.
